Nitpick: “Idiocracy” is not predictive. Rather than a crystal ball, it’s a mirror, reflecting _current_ (at the time - and things haven’t changed all that much) society but dialing things up to 11. ---

Oh, I saw one of those when our HS physics teacher took us to see the TRIGA at Reed College. The operator pulled the rods and turned out the lights in the room so we could see the cherenkov radiation of a running reactor. I thought the core was a bit larger than 2’ across, though. ---
