Also explained in that article is that sterling Republican candidate Pena spent 7 years in prison for a smash and grab at some big box store and that even though felons are barred from holding office in that state, a judge ruled that that is unconstitutional so he remained on the ballot. Go party of personal responsibility and high morals. ---

I’m of the opinion that felons should be allowed to run for office (in certain cases and to a point) so I’m a little torn here. ---

/Sorry to continue Hijack. I don’t recall anyone claiming expertise in any way shape or form. But I don’t think anyone said any of it was mainstream just more popular than “not” and well I do respect your knowledge of Japan I get most of my “info” on its pornography from the producers of such and interviews with said performers and directors etc. I’ll take the AV world’s word over anyone walking the streets of tokyo as a regular person. Tentacle porn appears on bikes at car shows for popular brands and in many music videos as a “ricer” like additive towards car wraps etc. I don’t like it , but it mostly is “mainstream” in porn by any definition of the word “over there”. Maybe not the regular Tv Porn but there is a reason we all associate it. It’s not like it floated over from Russia/India/Malaysia as something they picked up? I’m not there , but it sells…(same with interracial) So I’m inclined to think they like it. I’ll leave this alone now but if you don’t believe it , just go look at a porn store or backalley toy shop. We can all watch the thousand or so youtubers who are popular in and around Japan daily. I know I do. I got two buddies out there and they disagree with you , they’re native. I believe you are an ex pat but can’t really remember. Who should I believe? My horny male Japanese gamer buddies half my age(as well as liking their porn myself the regular stuff anyway, I find their women beautiful beyond compare) or a guy probably around my age? I get that you’re protective of it. But in my small experience that particular area you have wrong. (I also can’t recall anyone finding deeper truths in society in regards to porn, ever for anything. Ever in the history of humankind, so not sure where that’s coming from and I didn’t see anyone even tangentially claiming it, though once again I might have missed it or perhaps am guilty of myself and didn’t pay attention/wasn’t aware that I was alluding to that?). I’m honestly curious as to who mentioned the LGBT stuff as I missed that completely I’m guessing. One thing I wouldnt assume is that they are more accepting of things that defy the norm that aren’t man central (women seem to have no right to be sexual unless its for men’s benefit). Would totally agree with that. Also my apologies for defying your orders. At work on break and never having started a new thread I most likely would drop it in the wrong slot first off. Considering their penchant for under age “like” porn I’m surprised you balk at such things. Japan in regards to porn seems to be about pushing envelopes even within society’s taboos. Certainly nothing like anywhere else on earth. It’s fascinating. They haven’t quite caught up to the how gay people are viewed up here in Canuckistan , but id 50/50 depending on red/blue state, put them above america for acceptance. Even most blue states to be honest. America is full of prudes (till they think they’re alone…). I don’t see active legislation against them(Japan, just ignoring marriage). Whereas in america… bit more conflicted depending on location. Also education level… ---
