That article from [upday.com](http://upday.com) has quotes from government officials suggesting that Brits eat more local produce. What I’m wondering is whether enough produce is grown in the UK that everyone could just subsist on domestic production. I think they’d have to rely on some imports, no matter how much they try to support domestic growers. ---

The Brits couldn’t grow enough food for domestic consumption with a wartime footing and a vastly smaller population. I don’t see how they are going to do it now.
