I was squicked out when the article reported that this is a semi-standardized weight loss treatment and that the problem was that they injected **too much** toxin. Directly into stomach muscles. Using a syringe at the end of an endoscope. Brrrrrr. ---

The US has an obesity epidemic, which has absolutely nothing to do with America being heavily saturated with ads for _doesn’t this look ever so tasty, aren’t you hungry?_ though, admittedly, the stories are primarily from places outside the US ---

I can see this. Botox in the stomach muscles is less intrusive than bariatric surgery, and should be more easily reversible. The real bit of stupidity is getting botox injections from a back alley doctor. ---

To be fair, compared to some other examples of stupid MFery in this thread, I’m a bit grudgingly impressed at how nobody is making excuses for this asshole, including the asshole himself. Looks like a case of “drunk teen thinks it’ll be funny to play with gravity by doing a little random property damage, nobody is amused”. The person I’m non-grudgingly impressed with, though, is the wheelchair owner who cut off the GoFundMe for the wheelchair repairs and pledged to give the extra money to disabled people who need it. (However, it is absolutely drunk asshole teen who should be paying for these wheelchair repairs, not the wheelchair owner or GoFundMe donors, and I hope that that will be what happens. Preferably with money he has to earn by shoveling fresh pig manure in 90+ degree heat.) ---
