I mean, your typical sailor is tooling around in something that displaces some 10,000 tons (for a cruiser). Not being seen as an individual is pretty far down the list of concerns. The stated excuse was to hide grease stains better which sounds made up by some ensign to me. And to top it off, they even [abandoned bluish colors](https://www.stripes.com/theaters/us/navy-announces-end-of-blue-camouflage-uniform-1.422513). (Shakes cane) Back in _my_ day whether they were in dress or working uniforms, if there’s a soldier, sailor, and marine walking down the street together even a dumb-ass civilian knew right away which one’s the sailor. ---

A guy was in the hospital in Donegal, Ireland with covid. A group of anti vaxxers convinced him to check himself out. I know a guy who lives in [Home, Pennsylvania](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home,_Pennsylvania) and is a long haul trucker. He got pulled over once in what turned out to be a mistaken identity situation. He was exhausted. The police were questioning him and every time they asked where he was driving he answered “Home”. They thought he was fucking with them, but eventually things were figured out. ---

I knew someone who came from Maybee Michigan. He was hitchhiking one day, and the driver who picked him up asked him where he was headed. And heard his response as “maybe Michigan”. The driver kicked him out for being a wiseguy. Look at the bright side, the truckdriver could have been going to Intercourse Pennsylvania. ---
