I didn’t get the impression that Bolsonaro had to buy pizza from a street vendor. The way I read it (from some other article I think I saw), I think he got the pizza from a real restaurant but had to eat on their outdoor patio. ---

CNN reached out to the pharmacy but they refused to comment on whether or not vaccinations were being administered Thursday. On the one hand, I can understand the pharmacy not wanting to endanger its employees, and suspending vaccinations, at least until they can implement better security measures. On the other hand, you know that jokey meme about how “that means the terrorists win”? This is a case where that’s literally true. Assuming the facts reported are accurate, the assailant was a literal terrorist: he used violence and the implied threat of further violence to disrupt administration of a life-saving vaccine in the middle of a pandemic. I’m hoping, but not expecting, that the municipal and/or provincial and/or federal health authorities redirect resources to ensure that there’s no loss of access to vaccines in that area. And that if the assailant is identified (and if the facts reported are accurate) he’s charged with something more serious than simple assault and battery. ---
