Over in the aviation thread we recently had a cite to an article about a guy flying a bizjet who was utterly wasted. He ended up landing at an airport almost hundred miles from his destination and had he not made a teeny error and crashed he’d still be drunkenly flying his bizjet today.

Hard core alcoholics can do amazing shit at BACs that would put you or I into a coma. Not that they do it well, but they’re sorta there mentally, unlike you or I.

> AW&ST just ran a two-part article on the topic of this incredible bizjet accident from 3 years ago: [NTSB Docket 99882](https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-repgen/api/Aviation/ReportMain/GenerateNewestReport/99882/pdf) Stone drunk pilot flying a Citation manages to crash-land at an airport 85 miles from his destination & walk away from the destroyed airplane. Rest of relevant data here: [NTSB Docket - Docket Management System](https://data.ntsb.gov/Docket?ProjectID=99882) Whole lotta questions about how the overall system led to this guy sitting there doing that in somebody else’s airplane.
