The fact that one person was arrested says nothing about how many people were riding around in trucks looking for trouble. FEMA seems to believe the reported threat, as they are relocating some of their workers away from the area. I wouldn’t mind seeing corroboration from another source, but it seems like something ugly and stupid is going on. ---

Even if there was only one arrest and the reports of “truck loads” is inaccurate, I would expect FEMA to take any threat to their workers extremely seriously. Being a cop and carrying crack and weed, on you, at work, seems like a really good way to get caught by your local drug dog. I have to wonder if their K9 Unit suddenly realized why their dog was always so distracted by that cop during searches. ---

Why would they? They’re trained to give a positive response when their handler is there to give them praise, not to actually detect drugs. I’ve heard them called “probable cause on four legs.” ---
