No, but I don’t want to traumatize anyone with the ‘fermented meat’ folks. And by that I mean putting beef liver in a jar, on a shelf, in your kitchen and eating it 6 months later. ---

The Inuit had a habit of burying meat in the ground to ferment, which they would eat some while later. Smart people observed this practice and said, _oh, that is unsanitary, you have to put it in jars_. AIUI, this turned out to be a negative improvement, as the jars held in toxins/microbes that would percolate out when the meat was just plain buried. ---
