This happened to me, below my right wrist, when I was in elementary school. I just checked, and it’s no longer there. ---

I had one just below my eye(!) from third grade and it hung around until at least high school. Back when I was growing up Mormon in the 60s and 70s, tattoos were just slightly less of scandalous than adultery, and their existence in the world was evidence of the coming end times. My never tattooed father sexually, physically and emotionally abused his children. But thank god he never got inked. That would have been bad. ---

I got my first tattoo last year, when I turned 50. It doesn’t make me cool, and it doesn’t make me better-looking - it just makes me happy. Also, as midlife crisis bullshit goes, it’s cheaper than a sports car and less complicated than a mistress, so it’s got that going for it. ---

One thing about the “Queen of Canada” raid article: “St. Germaine said RCMP got a report on Aug. 25 of one of the building’s occupants possessing a firearm. That led to the investigation that culminated in the raid.” One person having a gun sparked a whole raid? Yeesh. As an American, that sounds amazing. ---

There has to be more to it. There have been a lot of stories of the cult members harrassing and threatening towns people. I am sure its not a very comfortable situation for either party. I suspect someone was threatened with a gun, and its the act that matters not whether there were any real guns. I just hope the RCMP know what they are doing, which is not always the case. The last thing we need is for this cult to be given some sort of unjust persecution victory. Gun ownership in rural Canada is quite high, but its rifles and shotguns not rambo shit.
