She should have known better. She was 51 years old. The crustacean is well-known enough to have earned its ‘devil crab’ nickname. She wasn’t a tourist; she lived there.

A friend of mine recently found his lost dog, with help from doorbell cameras. The way he did this was by texting all of his neighbors to ask for help, and then some of them reviewed their cameras to look for the dog, and a few of them saw it in the footage. This is a system that worked.

Perhaps it was deliberate? It would not be the first suicide on social media.

On the other hand, her companion also ate the crab’s meat and died so, unless it was a suicide pact, it could’ve been a daredevil stunt gone bad.\*
\*one of the crab’s toxins, tetrodotoxin is also found in pufferfish, eaten as fugu when expertly prepared. Did the “food influencer” intend to show she’d found a safe way to eat the crabmeat?

The Simpson’s provided a map of what parts of the fish you can and cannot eat. I assume she didn’t reference it.

I nominate Scott Bessent as today’s Stupid MFer.
Summary: There was a recent House financial services committee meeting. Maxine Waters asked the secretary whether he had written a letter to hedge fund investors warning that “tariffs are inflationary.” Bessent offered a terse “no” in response.
Bessent is a stupid MFer, because he either has memory problems, or he failed to realize that his words were actually recorded:
