I’ve certainly read a lot of early 20th-c references to somebody slipping on a banana peel “on the sidewalk”, specifically. Also, that’s how the banana peel gets so slippery, once it’s sat there a day or so and the inner skin starts to go slimy-rotten. Peel a skin right off a fresh banana and toss it on the ground and it won’t be much of a slipping hazard at all. Let it rot down a bit, and yeah, very much so. ---

Meh, of course it was stupid to openly smoke weed in a country where it’s illegal, but I don’t have any outrage for it because I think it should be legal everywhere. Maybe he should have smoked dried banana peels, I’ve heard it’s just as good. 😉 ---

Long, long ago I read an article of an experiment to determine the hallucinogenic properties of smoked banana peels. The researchers had to go through a literal ton of bananas to get enough to test and the results were very mild, not worth the effort was the conclusion. A big chunk of the article was what to do with a ton of bananas. You can eat only so much banana bread. Even the birds refused to eat it after a while – no toucans available – and the bulk of it wound up in a landfill. ---
