You’re assuming a fire-breathing dragon. Fire is a good attach IIRC against ice dragons, and is presumably a normal attack against acid and electric dragons. ---

I couldn’t get past the typical antivax bullshit claiming the FDA released a huge list of awful side effects of Covid vaccines. These liars and numbnuts pick up on AESIs (adverse events of special interest) which are _predetermined events and conditions to be monitored for_, not things that actually happened and were caused by the vaccines. I do like this version of the Crank Miranda Warning: “Disclaimer: Nothing herein is medical advice, a prescription, recommendation, or treatment guidance. Certain items are prophetic, speculative and for academic research only.” “I prophecy that my invention will greatly benefit mankind!” Yeah, sure. ---

Lawyer caught using “invisible” prompt in pleading in the hopes that the judge would use an AI to analyze the pleading and use the doctored AI result. Judge caught him, specifically directed him to never do that again, and to resubmit. Idiot does it again. Judge now directs that this lawyer must supply all further pleadings on paper, in person. I read a book a few years back that was a parody of Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew type juvenile mystery novels. About halfway through the book there’s a chapter where the author realizes the editor has probably stopped paying attention, and so directly addresses the reader and tells them what to write in their book report so they get a good grade. ---

Just saw this news article. A couple in Arizona has been arrested for trying to sell stolen property. They were selling books to a used book store. The book store employees noted that the books the couple had brought in were all from a local library. The book store contacted the library, which checked its records. They were able to quickly identify the couple who had signed the books out of the library before bringing them to the book store to sell them. This may be the dumbest crime I have ever heard of. I read some time ago of a small town library that built a new building a couple miles away from the old one. When it was complete and ready to be moved into they lifted the limit – ten books or so – that could be checked out. Folks came and checked out books by the car load … then returned them to the new building. They figured they’d saved about a third of the moving expense. ---

It was created and is operated by Russel Wattenberg, a former bartender who was inspired to create a system for distributing books to impoverished students.” One can donate books or take books for free.
