IMO “alternative health care” and all its works and workers belong in the evil category, not the stupid category. Their customers OTOH, fall in the stupid, desperate, or both category(s) as they fall prey to con after con after con from the medi-sleaze industry. ---

This happened a few miles away from me - the sentencing was in my local paper. I had a friend who was supposed to receive treatment at that exact location the following Monday. That put him off oxygen therapy for a while. It makes me so frustrated that a young child died being put through a therapy that had no evidence of efficacy. You can’t cure ADHD. The type of people who drag their kids into this stuff are exactly the kind unlikely to seek medication which is the first-line treatment for ADHD. But the people who ran that place were just evil, especially the manager. A five year old boy burned alive under her watch and she made comments soon after like, “I’m just saying, he should have at least tried to put himself out.” Also, as soon as it happened, she fled from the scene and tried to get her teenage son to wipe her laptop. I advocate not for one book, but several books to be thrown at this woman. And I’m happy to see everyone else go to jail too. ---

While Oxford Center locations in Michigan have shut down (at least temporarily), other “holistic” operators [are still offering hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy for autism](https://www.baromedicalhbo.com/conditions/autism/). HBOT remains the cure for what ails you - [this joint](https://cincinnatihyperbarics.com/) claims it treats (in addition to autism) a whole range of disorders including cancer, cerebral palsy and MS. Needless to say, these wild claims are not backed by medical science. There should be a nationwide crackdown on HBOT scammers, but in the current “anything goes” climate at HHS and the FDA, it won’t happen. ---

Pretty sure I remember reading of other incidents where duct tape was deployed as a restraint. I’m inclined to believe that flight crews stock it.
