A fair amount of it, of course, is an act to play to his audience. But that’s almost worse. He has little to no respect for the people who contribute the most to his career and has a vested interest in keeping them ignorant and stupid. ---

I take it it’s illegal in Australia to give the Nazi salute? It’s not clear from the article if he was arrested for that or the drug driving. (It’s not illegal in the US, though it wouldn’t necessarily stop a cop from arresting you anyway.) ---

Reminds me of the Adam-12 episode where they stop a VW minibus covered with hippie decals for blowing a stop sign and the driver berates them for hassling a citizen. They’re about to let him go without a ticket when a raucous voice from inside the vehicle starts repeatedly calling out “Down with the pigs!”. It turns out to be a myna bird trained by the guy’s girlfriend to utter anti-cop slogans. This being the (fictional) U.S. and not Australia, they let the driver go. ---

From its Wikipedia entry: “Fermented shark (Hákarl) contains a large amount of ammonia and has a strong smell, similar to that of many cleaning products. It is often served in tiny cubes on toothpicks. Those new to it may gag involuntarily at the first attempt to eat it because of the high ammonia content.” I think I’d rather have measles. ---
