I replayed the NPR story about the recovery of Renoir. It turned out the first clue was a thief’s DNA on one of the paintings; when analyzed, the govt linked it to his license plate. I’d smack myself in the head with my cut-up hand! ---

A pro-smoking vibe is also visible on social media among “influencers” and various deluded sorts, who believe in doing things that experts warn against (the “I will not comply” crowd), and besides, nicotine is the new cure-all, along with chlorine dioxide bleach and borax. ---

I don’t see any blame or judgement in the article title; they’re leading with the most alarming part of the story. Rather, if the title was “daycare administrator brings unsecured firearm” they’d probably be rightfully accused of burying the lead. ---
