It’s not stated in the article if the victim knew about the dangers of preparing pufferfish, so maybe he wasn’t a stupid MF but only died tragically out of ignorance. ---

I’ve never prepared whole fresh fish, but don’t you remove all entrails of every fish before cooking it? The poison in pufferfish comes from what it eats. There are now farm raised pufferfish that are non-toxic. ---

Technically, I believe that I would never eat pufferfish, even if a “friend” gave it to me. Especially if I wasn’t positive that the friend _hadn’t_ taken out a life insurance policy on me… ---
