That’s red flags, sirens and strobe lights, IMO. Also consider their name, their join date and their familiarity with the board’s culture. True, there’s a lot of hullaballoo for a birthday party or winning a contest, but this thread isn’t about those things, is it? 😛 ---

Is it any surprise to anyone that one of our new joins, whose [far-right fuckwittery](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=20610713&postcount=2954) has already [been exposed](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=841943), turns out to be a [gun nut](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=20610559&postcount=64)? Anyone at all? Meanwhile, in other news, **Ditka** [pretends not to know how to put a poster on ignore](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=842212), even though it’s right in your face in UserCP, thus allowing him to grandstand about how pissed off he is about a particular poster. Must really itch not to be able to name the annoying liberal, eh **Ditka**? He gets a lot of grief from quite a few posters, yours truly included.
