I’d like to nominate **octopus** for troll of the year award. He’s dumb as a bag of wet mice on his best day. If you haven’t experienced him, you probably will soon enough. Looks like there are a handful of people I’d consider ‘trolls’ who seem to want to turn this forum into their own little ‘safe space’. Definitely isn’t the majority here, but say something this little crew if you will digress with or offends them for God knows what reason, and immediately the cries of “troll” or “I hope the mods ban you after Xmas” start without any posts showing forum violations. Must suck being that hypersensitive, you’d barely be able to leave the house or accept that there’s a diverse world that exists out there beyond some sheltered cloister of the internet. ---

You might note that there are always ongoing disagreements among posters here of various political and ideological views, including those who are consistently conservative and tend to run against the grain of the majority here – some were mentioned [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=19871501&postcount=185), and I can think of a number of others. I don’t know of any established member here who is offended by a differing point of view, and in fact I find that thoughtfully expressed differences of opinion are constructive because they sometimes force you to think harder about your argument or gather additional facts to support it. Personally, I welcome such posters, and I’m sure most others do as well. This is not the problem that the comments about you are addressing. They are addressing the fact that you are a useless fuckwit and a waste of space who makes no such contribution to discussions. There’s a significant difference between objecting to a contrary opinion and objecting to the disruptive intrusion of a gibbering moron. If you were smarter you could understand this difference. Plus, you are a pompous ass and a prime exemplar of the Dunning-Kruger effect. I admit that I base this only on the limited amount of your magnificent _oeuvre_ that I’ve glanced at, so perhaps you’ve said something useful somewhere that I haven’t seen, although I seriously doubt it. ---

So not only was he calling for censorship but was straight up lying about me and claiming I was arguing that “evolution isn’t real”. I’m guessing he’s just another militant Humanist who probably doesn’t know much about evolution or the Scientific Method, but apparently made up his mind I’m an “evolution denier” and has gone off on a crusade to have me banned, even when his reading comprehension is poor if he thought I was “denying evolution”.
