Wouldn’t it be more practical to postulate TWO 747s carrying a coconut between them? ---

Is it Tangent Week in the Pit? First, the “How has President Trump pissed you off today?” thread deteriorates into the “Respond to **Starvin’ A** and his liberal straw men” show. Then every post in the “Thread for the Mueller Investigation” gets shat upon by **Frothygay-Phipps**. And now this thread’s off the rails (again). Although come to think of it, that’s probably because we’re mercifully low on trolls right now… ---

Well, SamuelA proved his troll-hood by posting that he had terminal cancer and was going to chemo, then saying in his pit thread that this was something he made up for _reasons_. That kind of shit is the lowest of the low, and no, I don’t give a fuck what excuses he gives for it. Perma-Ignore. ---

Yeah, and there was quite the lag-- three months. After he stated he had “terminal cancer” and would “get back to us after his next round of chemo”. And before he admitting he was joking in his Pit thread. I admit that I’d been cutting him slack because he was obviously under pressure in his life… until just now when I went back and read the previous thread and saw that he was, indeed attempting a joke. But if a normal person had been trying to make a joke they’d admit it sooner than three months later, not wait until after someone doubts their diagnosis. ---

IANAMod, but as I understand it: Trolling is mostly just an annoyance that can sometimes be curbed, but legal threats can rapidly escalate to real legal action which means that the PTB have to get their own lawyers involved to deal with them which means paying lots of money as well as the real-life headaches involved. And those are bad, bad things to have happen when the continued survival of this argument shop is on the line. So the banhammer falls quickly and hard, before any legal action and/or justification therefor can get underway. It’s not always fair, but it’s necessary. ---
