What about [this twerp](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php), who made his appearance with [this bit of inanity](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=20053154&postcount=1936) and continued inanity in that thread, mostly with plagiarism? You have to congratulate him on [this bit of tap dancing](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=20055197&postcount=2110) He’s still getting is derriere handed to him fairly often though. I’m wondering if he’s going to break the 100 posts a day barrier, though. Right now he’s just approaching 80. But, hey, if you don’t have to write your own material, I guess no goal is hard to reach, hey, Trumpy? ---

I don’t think \*\*ckalli \*\*is a troll either. He seems to put actual thought into what he’s saying. He may overuse “ultraliberal leftist,” but he’s not entirely unreasonable. ---

There does seem to be some sort of pattern where a rabid right-winger shows up, hurls insults at pretty much everyone for a few days, gets banned, then within a couple days another one pops up. Nevertheless in this case I’d say no, on the notion that whoever it is could not alter their writing style that much. With the plagiarism, I can’t see why the troll hasn’t been dealt with. When you aren’t even using your own words, it’s clear you aren’t here for some actual discussion about something you feel passionately about. I do wish people would be more suspicious of people who join the board and their first post is to bombastically attack everyone else for their opinion on controversial topics. It’s not always a troll, of course, but that should make you leery. One thing I always look for is to see if their behavior is consistent with the legitimate reason this happens: they stumbled upon a contentious post, and got angry enough about it to leave a comment. They aren’t going to take glee in getting attacked back. Everything about this guy reads as a troll that is deliberately deescalating to try and keep from getting banned. But then they still keep making another trolling post. It’s also quite common to claim minority status when trolling against liberals. ---
