It isn’t a “bastion” in the sense of a secure and impenetrable fortress, but a few loudmouthed conservatives that the Dope tolerates does not mean that there isn’t a preponderence of liberals here. But it is ironic that they claim that they are _not_ tolerated by the liberally-skewing mods, yet conservative-leaning sites would be much quicker with the banhammer against equivalently [del]obnoxious[/del] outspoken liberals. Most of the sites would be triggered against even polite liberals, yet the polite conservatives here never get warnings and rarely get pushback from hoi polloi. (I assume that there are some conservative boards with intellectual pretensions that would tolerate polite liberals.) ---
