The FBI’s investigation of Carter Page was essentially following up a lead, and leads aren’t always reliable. There’s no way of knowing the veracity of a lead until it’s actually investigated. Besides, Page was ostensibly in the pocket of Russian energy oligarchs. Also, let’s get the timing right: the IG report _began_ 2 years ago and was released just last week. Don’t you think the IG kept their findings confidential until the report was completed? How’s Schiff going to know about the FBI’s fuckups (which the IG concluded were not done out of political motivation), if they weren’t documented until 2 years after the fact? Where’s the lie? So, now are you going to say you _weren’t_ actually talking about impeachment? ---
