The yellow as complete bs! He was shoved into the Peruvian keeper.

My screentime with MLS is way down from a decade ago so I haven’t watched him a ton, but a lot of professional analytics people are pretty high on him. The only real downside people bring up is he doesn’t have elite top-end speed.

I’ve seen him once in the MLS here at home, and he was fun to watch, but nothing spectacular yet. He he also got into it with someone, which apparently is not uncommon for him.

If anyone is watching the friendly, it would be interesting to hear how he’s doing.

Ends 4-1 U.S. Ellis, Tillman (penalty), Hall and Berhalter scored, so two from the newbs, two from the vets.

Gozo came in for Sullivan in the 62nd minute. For someone who hasn’t turned 17 yet, I’d say Sullivan did pretty well - needs some seasoning, and didn’t seem to have the level of understanding that he has with his club teammates, but held his own on the right wing and combined well with Tillman in the attack.

Poch made ten subs over the course of the second half, rotating the entire team except for Austin Trusty. Given the amount of emphasis on Olympics prep, and the degree to which the USMNT maintained possession and kept control of the game even after that level of substitution, I’d have to give them a rating of “job well done”.

Thank you for that write-up! I’m sitting in the cell phone lot at the airport waiting to pick up my son, so the recap is appreciated.
