Nothing more annoying that foreigners using improper terms to call your clubs. Spanish people adding articles to the names of Argentinian clubs make us grind our teeth too. “It’s not **El** River and **El** Boca, it’s River and Boca! 😬” ---

It drives me berserk when German TV announcers (the worst in the World, but that is rather Pit material for another thread) refer to Real Madrid as _das weisse Ballett_, or the white ballet. First, the players don’t wear tutus. Would be fun, but they don`t. Second, **[ballet blanc](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballet_blanc)** is an already established term. Shows their ignorance. Third, it’s ridiculous. And I am not even a Madrid fan, rather the opposite. Idiots, them all. ---

Saw a match the other day with a former pro as co-commentator (don’t remember who), and the main sportscaster mentioned “Arsenal London” when the ex-pro vehemently protested "What did you just say? They’re Arsenal! Nobody calls them “Arsenal London!”. The guy was very embarrassed. I giggled in my sofa. ---

I hear London Arsenal in the states, but not Arsenal London. Is that because the modifier comes before the city name in German clubs (Werder Brenen, Hertha Berlin)? ---

That may be one of the reasons, but the point is that in the UK, they’re just “Arsenal”, no “London” before or after. Everybody knows they’re from London, but so are countless other clubs. ---

US is playing Belgium in over of their final games before roster selection. The jersey’s look waaay to similar, especially from the back. Interestingly they’re also taking water breaks even though it’s not how and they’re in a dome. I guess just simulating WC conditions.
