I’d pulled up the Dope to take a quick peek before going to bed at about 10PM (Mountain) and saw the main thread in MPSIMS. “What the _bloody fuck???_” I said and pulled up CNN’s site. There it was. So I came back here and read the thread. I called my mom. I read a bunch of news sites. I didn’t go to bed early like I had been planning. Then I went to bed, feeling deeply relieved (I had been convinced that either he’d been dead for years, or that we’d never find him, not that I thought about it much) and satisfied. One bastard down. Particularly, that bastard down. Good riddance. ---

I imagine a few, if not several, [Intelligence Stars](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelligence_Star) and definitely some of the Seal 6 equivalent “campaign” awards have been issued in some rather clandestine but exuberant ceremonies. Might even have coincided with Obama’s issue of the Medals of Honor. ---

My husband had gone to the vet to put our dog to sleep, and I was surfing Facebook while waiting up for him. I saw the first posts there. Our dog was born on 9/11/01, so it’s like he was waiting for bin Laden to die before he could finally rest. ---
