No, they’re actions don’t have anything to do with feminism. They ARE feminists - I said they are!

> No, if A feminist drops her cup, than A feminist is a litterbug. If several feminists drop their cups, then several feminists are litterbugs. Please don’t paint me with your extremist brush. I don’t say “All X are Y,” because that’s stupid and almost always wrong.

Then you agree with me. Just because a pair of feminists got into a social media fight with a troll, it doesn’t mean all feminists do that, or that feminists think that’s a good idea. THAT was what I was saying, and I thought it was pretty clear.

> As actual evidence of discrimination against women disappears, feminists become more creative about finding excuses to maintain their victimhood status. Whether it’s complaining about how men sit, the comments of a random cop in Canada, or a shirt a guy wore on TV, their complaints just get just sillier as Western society and becomes more and more feminized.
>
> Meanwhile, where they can’t find actual problems, they make them up: hysteria about fake rape crises on college campuses, for example, and misleading statistics about a supposed “earnings gap.”
>
> At the same time, evidence of the toll on men and boys [continues to mount](http://cnsnews.com/news/article/ali-meyer/women-now-33-more-likely-men-earn-college-degrees):
>
> The vast majority of teachers in elementary school are women, and [boys suffer from it](http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2014/04/30/boys_are_struggling_in_school_why_everyone_should_care_about_the_gender.html):
>
> Meanwhile, even as fathers are spending more time with their children than ever, divorce courts continue to give custody to women: according to the US Census Bureau, [mothers get custody after a divorce 82.2% of the time](http://www.census.gov/prod/2011pubs/p60-240.pdf). Given that 50% of marriages end in divorce, and women initiate divorce 70% of the time, perhaps it’s not surprising men are getting increasingly leery of marriage. Particularly for men who have heavily invested themselves in their marriages and children, the consequences of divorce can be devastating. [This study](http://jech.bmj.com/content/57/12/993.full), for example, found that men were 9 times more like to commit suicide after a divorce than women.
>
> More children than ever are growing up in fatherless homes, a situation that increases risks for suicide, drug addiction, teen pregnancy, dropping out of school, and going to prison.
>
> Meanwhile, feminists only up the ante: arguing not only that “a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle,” but that being male is a [birth defect](http://chronicle.com/article/The-End-of-Male-Supremacy/228769/), for example, and that manhood should be abolished, and men should be reeducated. Feminists rightfully condemn men who hit women, but their attitude toward women who hit men is somewhat different:
>
> Women are perhaps right to take this attitude: there are few repercussions for a woman who hits a man. Despite the fact that men and women are equally likely to resort to violence in intimate relationships (and more likely to hit when there’s only one person doing the hitting) women are rarely arrested for hitting men, and when they are, they’re much more likely to get their cases dismissed outright, or to get a lighter sentence.
>
> For example, when [Lucie Slater](http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2252882/Why-X-Factors-boyfriend-beater-Lucie-Slater-spending-Christmas-cell-says-writer-Peter-Lloyd.html) - apparently a pop-star in England - beat her boyfriend so badly it “It also caused severe blood loss and permanent nerve damage to his face,” her ultimate sentence was “a suspended sentence, a two-year supervision order and 120 hours of community service.”
>
> There is a price, though, for all this male-bashing (literal, and figurative). More and more men are simply opting out of long-term relationships with women. Women say it’s because men are childish, and need to “man-up”. There is another possibility, though: perhaps men are simply looking at the risk/benefit ratio of marriage, and deciding it’s not worth it.
>
> [A record share of Americans have never married](http://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2014/09/24/record-share-of-americans-have-never-married/), for example, and the problem seems to hit women in the thirties especially hard:
>
> All of this will have no effect on feminists: feminism is about have choices without accountability. But the reality is that feminism has consequences, and it hurts not just men, but women and children too.

The complaints against feminism are valid around the margins unless you are white. If you are a white male, you are still better off than females of any race and definitely better off than males of any other race.

If you are a white male and the shift in power that came with feminism bothers you then you are basically saying you are bothered by the fact that the almost insurmountable advantage white males have had is now surmountable.

Not sure how complaints against feminism can be valid or invalid based on who you are. Discrimination and imbalance of power and all that against women are wrong independent of who you are or I am.

I doubt this is the case, and this is a toxic mentality to take towards people who don’t like the cultural Marxist schema overtaking the West.

In fact it is people like you who make people like us dislike the movements; arrogance fuels your pride and suddenly you have men and women smashing store windows for blocks because they want “equality.”

In truth it is the very clear and obvious push for the agenda that makes us feel so aggravated with the movement. If it were natural and if it were naturally viable it would have worked out well on its own, but we didn’t wait it out (correction, YOU didn’t wait it out). Suddenly we have fanatics who can’t dissociate their core being from the movement.

It is women like you who are clear evidence that feminism and racism should not be in a democratic society.

“Cultural Marxist schema overtaking the West”? Hmm, that [sounds familiar…](http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk-politics/2012/04/who-are-breivik%E2%80%99s-fellow-travellers)

You’re knew here so I’ll let this slide. It’s our custom at the SDMB to debate people’s posts and not their personalities. In the future, please consider whether personal remarks like this actually add to the nature of the discussion.

I can’t imagine that the OP would want the Feminist movement not to have produced change in the course of history, and IMO the problems sited were not necessarily a result of Feminism. The struggle for women’s rights is an important and difficult ongoing undertaking, but yikes, part of a “cultural Marxist schema overtaking the west”, I think not.

Nearly every woman I know has at least 1 form of herpes. They also have a kid with someone they dont really love or even like. FEMINISM!!! YEAH!

Im not even religious, im just aware and modern american women are either overweight or have herpes and/or a kid with someone they barely like or are trashy. Hooking up with an 18-25 year old pre kid and pre herpes is the only way

I think I see the problem. It’s not women or feminism.

Clearly we are failing to create a safe space.
