Lord no, I wasn’t banned. it just seems like it’s getting too commercial, with companies trying to hawk their stuff, rather than individuals.

If you’re looking to buy something, you might want to try the “reverse-auctions” like [Respond.com](http://www.respond.com) or [eWanted](http://www.ewanted.com) or [iWant.com](http://www.iwant.com)

These are the places where (in theory) you’ll have multiple people who want to sell you the item thus driving the price lower.

No first-hand experience, but have heard stories of it working ok. Guess you just have to try it.

I recently bought some stuff from [surplusauctions.com](http://surplusauctions.com)

Pretty fair deal. Watch out for their huge shipping charges.

A 1 oz PMCIA modem cost $12.50 to mail. If you bought two, $25.00 for shipping. I don’t know why they get away with this crap but just beware of that.
