# On locked threads and lunacy

OK, I know that I have not been posting here for a very long time, but I just have to share that all of the locked threads (and deleted ones for that matter) over in Great Debates recently are a little shocking to me.

See, I am used to debates being opinionated, lively, hell even sarcastic in GD and so seeing things degrade in to foolish ignorance is a lot like a turd falling in to a Ming vase. I mean Pit threads, by the very nature of that forum, get locked from time to time but I cannot recall the last time that I have noticed a GD thread locked. :mad:

Don’t know the specific threads to which you refer, but from what I’ve seen, threads are mostly locked because the OP turned out to be a returning sock. Could this be the case?

This seems, from what I gather, to be the result of a mini-invasion of white supremacy nutbars. Definite baiting, trolling and the like going on. I would link, but lots of them have already been deleted. There are a few pit threads about this though.

Yes, I started one of the pit threads. I think the specific rules violation involved posting verbatim (presumably copyrighted) material from other websites. And some comments I’ve seen from mods in a few other threads indicate that one pr mpre folks banned re-registered under additional member names.
