[This](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=119093) thread of yours got me interested, and I found some local hashers here in VT. What fun! Just wanted to thank you for broadening my horizons. Learn something new on this board every day.

Hashing does seem kind of cool, I agree.

I found some pictures on the net of a Texas hashers get together. It looked like a good time until I saw the picture of the “Butt Chug”. That left me in a state of mild disbelief, and then I saw the pictures of the “Double Butt Chug”.

These images alone have kept me from joing the HHH.

**Eonwe** , you’re very welcome! It gives me tingly warm fuzzies to know that I’ve helped to corrupt someone else! Whenever I travel on business I check if there’s going to be a hash, so if I make it to Burlington, I’ll let ya’ know!

**adam yax** , I can understand your reluctance, but in 5.5 years of hashing, I have yet to engage in (or even witness in person) a butt chug. Near as I can tell, those are mostly reserved for a hashing couple that is getting married, or similar situations. Don’t let apprehension keep you from doing something fun!

Never hashed myself, but tomorrow is San Diego’s Red Dress Run.

Ooh boy. A bunch of sweaty, running men, dashing down the street in drag.

Might need a drink after seeing _that_, actually, so maybe the drinking part makes sense after all!
