Remind me what the Browns did to not get a pick until Round 4? Did they sell their collective soul to the Forces of Light?
1st round - Brady Quinn trade.
2nd round - Corey Williams
3rd round - Shaun Rogers
I don’t know who this tight end is. He concerns me. They say he’s a pass catcher and not a blocker. It makes me wonder if they anticipate Winslow being gone in a year or two due to injury, but the scheme is designed around a pass catching tight end, so they’re drafting his replacement.

Traded next year’s #3 apparently.

The stupid NFL network talking head keeps up about how they need to take a backup RB. No, we’re good, thanks.

Fuck yeah!

Packers trade up to get another great value in Jeremy Thompson, and he fits a need. Hot damn!

And there goes Michael McGlynn. ☹ Now the only one of “my guys” left in the middle rounds is Tashard Choice.

Maybe they took a cue from the Giants and decided they needed their own “Kevin Boss.” You don’t have to be fully gone to need your backup to step up. Winslow isn’t exactly the poster child for never-been-injured.

2 years ago we were discussing the idea of drafting Vernon Davis if he fell to our pick. I advocated it on the basis that if you had two elite pass catching tight ends you could design an offense unlike anything the NFL has seen. You could line up in 1 WR/2 TE/FB/RB formations and run with a ton of blockers at the POA or pass and get your elite TEs on their linebackers. 2 WR/2 TE/RB is a little more balanced, but they still have to run base 4-3 against you and it’s a whole lot harder to scheme to stop 2 freak TEs than 1.

I wonder if they’ll try to design plays to exploit this with the new kid. I hope that’s the intent… not drafting Winslow’s replacement.

And the winner for the “Most Aptly Named” player in the draft is “Reggie Corner” playing Corner.

Booooo. There goes Tashard Choice. And to Dallas? I did not see that coming.

Maybe in a year or two we can poach another NFC East team of their backup running back and help him turn into a stud. Thanks for Ryan Grant, Giants.
Cliff Avril is a great pick there. He could work out nicely for the Lions.
I agree. Even Andre Fluellen is a good pick. so far, it looks like the Lions aren’t doing so bad here. I’m not blown away or ultra impressed, but there don’t seem to be any blunders.

My quarterback man crush is still on the board, though.

ETA: **Ellis** , you’ll like Manningham. Runs god routes, good hands, good game speed, too. Shows up in big games, at least on the collegiate level.

Hmmm. Mike Heart is still around. I think he’d be a good pick for someone as a back-up RB.

Josh? He intrigues the hell out of me, as does Dennis Dixon, who is still available. Neither are prospects for the Packers, so you’re welcome to them.

As we’re coming up on the latter rounds, here’s the rest of my guys that I think are worth flyers for the Pack:

Jack Ikegwuonu, CB, Wisconsin – Fuck, while I was figuring out this post, he was selected. Fuck.

Adarius Bowman, WR, Oklahoma State
Tim Hightower, RB, Richmond
Drew Radovich, OT/OG, USC
Steve Justice, C, Wake Forest
Roy Schuening, G, Oregon State.
Larry Grant, OLB, Ohio State

For awhile there, looking at the draft tracker at [NFL.com](http://NFL.com), it looked like the Packers had selected John David Booty.

However, it appears the Packers traded that pick to the Vikes.

Well played, sir.
Why Jerome Fulton and not Owen Schmitt if they wanted a fullback? Schmitt, from what I hear, is about as hardcore as you get.

Bwahaha!

Everything has gone according to plan. KFS will beat out Tatum Bell for the starting job in about a week of camp, and **LOUNE** will be delighting in his new star tailback and biting his nails anxiously as he reviews the “Rename LOUNE!” thread.

McFadden will average 6 yards per carry but only carry 150 times with the Raiders’ ridiculously crowded halfback depth chart - maybe they can figure out a way to run a five-back base offense.

Mendenhall will be a change of pace back, no more- which is all he’s good for anyway.
