On wall outlets, USB and fast-charging

So would it make any sense to tie all three plus an extra wire together with a wire nut then run that short extra wire into the outlet? Otherwise I’m running all three wires into one screw on the outlet.
[/quote]Yes, that’s how it’s done now: all the connections tied together in a wire nut, and a short pigtail connecting to that outlet.
The advantage is that the 2 further outlets fed from here are more independent. The way yours was done, if the incoming hot wire works loose here, all the further outlets are dead, too.
The disadvantage is that it takes up more space in the electrical box. Many older homes were wired with the smallest, least intrusive boxes that would fit, and can’t fit this method.

Update.
I did the pigtail and there was almost not enough room with the wirenuts and the new box. It does not fast-charge my Motoroil G7 at 4.8A but it think that has more to do with how Moto’s “Turbopower” works than the box. Considering I’m not beholden to Motoroil and the outlet does what it needs to do, I’m considering at success … enough that I’ll put in a few more outlets in key areas.

Likely not. Try 30 years. By then all of these devices will be beyond LiIon and Fluoride-Ion Batteries ( FIBs ) and will be 100% wirelessly charged.

" Hey Mom !! Check THIS out? Didn’t you tell us that people used to have to plug their VoComs in to charge them ?? Heee Heee Heee !!! "

Goddamned kids.
