This thread reminds me of a hilarious phone call President Lyndon Johnson made to his tailor, that was taped and preserved as part of his presidency’s official record: \*I want 'em half an inch larger in the waist than they were before. The pockets when I sit down in the chair, the knife and your money comes out. So I need at least another inch in the pockets. Another thing - the crotch, down where your nuts hang - is always a little too tight, because they cut me, it’s like riding a wire fence. I am left handed and definately dress right. I asked my tailor about this, and he told me he allows slightly more room on the “dress” side to avoid shocking ladies, and he offsets the zipper so as not to chafe the head. :eek:He told me the majority of right handed men dress left and most left handed men dress right.:dubious: ---

I naturally hang to the left. But I discovered years ago that when wearing boxers and jeans, if I manually position the whole package to the right, it created a noticeable bulge which, I later learned, was appreciated by my girlfriend and some of the other girls in class. Those girls, they do talk. I’m now in the habit of dressing right. ---

I recently ordered a suit from one of these touring/Hong Kong tailors, and wasn’t asked The Question when I did the fitting. I was rather disappointed, actually–it seems to be so much a part of the ritual of getting a tailored suit! ---

I used to hang left, until I read online that it’s ideal to be straight. That’s why I tie weights to it now. ---

Then you can make an informed decision based on the fit and finish of the shirt. The place I went with was [mytailor.com](http://mytailor.com), which had good reviews on a (rather traditional) men’s style forum that I sometimes frequent.
