I’m planning a gag gift for which I will need a chocolate orange made by someone more respected than Kraft. Don’t laugh. I’m serious, though I may just fondue orange segments and put the orange back together. Any suggestions? Also, what type of wine goes with chocolate? ---

I was gonna suggest [Terry’s](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry's_Chocolate_Orange) until I learned it’s a Kraft product. (Sure doesn’t _taste_ cheesy.) As to wine, I’d pick a nice ballsy (but not sweet) red. Something that the choccy will complement but not voerpower. ---

I love Terry’s Chocolate Orange! I got two in my stocking yesterday. No you can’t have one. Why is Kraft not good? They taste great to me. ---

**WHACK AND UNWRAP!!1!** A Scots friend of mine got me hip to Terry’s several seasons ago. I at first demurred (I’m type 2 diabetic), but a nibble or 2 didn’t hurt. Anyway, after tasting it, I know now why they were originally in the shape of an apple. Garden of Eden, anyone? 😃 (The orange dates to 1932.) ---

Terry’s was a British chocolate company before being purchased by the Kraft multinational, and even though production has moved elsewhere in Europe, I promise you their standards have not slipped. They’re jolly good still. ---

True, Terry’s chocolate oranges are good, but I need something absurdly upscale. Here’s the setup: a friend used to do ad sales for the wedding, events and catering industries. She was used to spending hundreds of dollars on her clients over the course of a year, possibly more depending on the clients’ tastes and the ad revenues generated. When she moved on, she met her replacement at the office of one of the more posh (?) clients. The new rep had brought a chocolate orange and a bottle of grocery store wine to woo the client. This did not go over well and probably helped the new rep lose the account. To sum it up, chocolate orange + bottle of wine = cheap gift. (Not that they do, and no offense intended to anyone. Personally, I like chocolate oranges.) Given this inside joke, I’d like to give said friend a gag gift. My thoughts are to wrap up a chocolate orange and a bottle of wine, only include a chocolate orange that would be too excessive for Saks or Neiman Marcus, and a bottle of better Italian or German wine (There’s another inside story here about wines from France and California, but I’d rather not get into _that_.) ---
