One hit wonder groups that had some other decent songs

Yeah, that’s their only non-Snoopy song to make the top 40.

The song was about five years old by then, having originally been released in '66.

Steve Forbert had one top 40 song - Romeo’s Tune. He is still touring and putting out albums. They are folk/americana type music.
One of my favorites is The Oil Song. It was written about 1980. Each verse was about an oil spill. Since then every time there is a big oil spill he writes a new verse for the song.

It is good. I saw them in concert back in the day and they did a half-hour version of “In” with the drummer collapsing on stage at the end of his epic solo. He may have done that every night, for all I knew, but it made great theater.

Anyway, the other IB song to listen to is “Soul Experience” from their second album, one of my favorite psychedelic songs.

I’ve always found the “Iron Butterfly Theme” (from their first album “Heavy”) to be one of the great rock instrumentals… Iron Butterfly Theme Iron Butterfly - YouTube

I always forget about Heavy, which was 3/5 a different group. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida was their peak. Ball is their third album, not their second.

Vastly underrated group.

I remember the Stevie Forbert album Jack Rabbit Slim. The Oil Song came as a separate, floppy, one-sided record included in the album. I may still have it somewhere.

ISTM that The Boomtown Rats are only known for I Don’t Like Mondays. I pretty much liked the entirety of their Fine Art Of Surfacing album.

Same as this one?

Same as this one?

Yes, same song.

Dear god those horrible collars.
