Hell, **Bricker** , it’s still a dream. I still dream of being Christine, even though I could have changed that whippersnapper’s diapers. Let’s dream about doing a Doper Phantom someday, even if we have to take it down a key or two and make it ADA compliant for our walkers and wheelchairs. I call these Lana Turner moments–supposedly she was discovered in a Schraft’s drugstore at the fountain. Every now and again I realize that no Hollywood producer, director whathaveyou is going to come across me in Walgreen’s and shout Eureka! 1. At 43, I am past my sell date for anything Hollywood (and that is a whole nother thread!) 2. I may or may not have any acting talent–was always too scared to try out for school plays and such. Somehow I doubt that Meryl Streep should start to worry… And it’s not just dreams of “stardom”–when I pass a devastatingly handsome man…I realize that he is at least 10 years younger than I and would no more give me a second glance than (put your own comparison here). \ Christ, what a downer…now I want to hide in bed with the covers over my head–for the next 40 years! ---

If anyone has read _[Journeyer](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1568496966/002-1780387-8240017?v=glance&n=283155)_ by Gary Jennings, you might remember near the end of the book, Marco Polo is in prison, writing his journal. He is amazed and saddened by the fact that inside his head is a 25 year old, but his body is a creaky 95. I realized then that there is a 25 year old in everyone’s head, wondering how things came to their present state. While I am old, I’ll be 60 in a few months, I have few regrets in life. But, I’m still wounded when I’m reminded (every hour of every day) that I’m only 25 on the inside. ---

I’ve been watching \*6 Feet Under \* courtesy of Netflix. In a recent episode, a girl turned 18. Someone asked her she liked it. She shrugged and muttered “it’s okay.” She was then told to get used to it “because you’re going to be 18 for the rest of your life.” :eek: ---

I once read that the sculptor Rodin said that “whatever her real age, no woman is older than 18 in her heart” (that’s the gist, anyway). This was regarding a comment on his work showing a very aged woman looking into a pond at her very young reflection. I believe that’s true. I’m definitely 25 inside, though 50 outside. ---

I’ve lived in countries like Singapore, Indonesia and Australia and it saddens me to think that those days are gone and won’t happen again. ---

The biggest thing I am sad to have lost is my dancing professionally…my mom forbid my going pro because she said “There’s no money in it.” And you know, she may be right, but money ain’t everything by a long shot. And dancing was my life. And I could have gone pro, I was certainly good enough. I also wish I could have learned an instrument/sang really well but I never got classes in any of those, and no one but no one wants to hear me sing. ---
