Listen to her again and give me your impressions. Also this: I’ve read her bio, but I’m not convinced RR is in the same league as some of the more seasoned TV chef personalities. A last admission: RR IS hot–at least in terms of popularity. At shopping malls, hundreds, sometimes thousands of fans regularly line up to see her giggling over her Sharpie. ---

Well with the anti-Rachael Ray and anti-Katie Couric threads we have going here, there seems to be a distinct anti-perkiness undercurrent to the board now. I have watched Ms. Ray a lot and she doesn’t remind me of someone from the San Fernando Valley. I think I know what you’re getting at, but she’s not the 1980s prototype of a “Valley Girl.” ---

I find it amusing that of the last four $40/day shows I’ve watched, they’ve found an excuse to put her into a bikini on two of them. I think they may finally be finding their target audience. -lv ---

I just want to take this opportunity to say I really miss Martha Stewart. _sigh_ Psycho hosebeast or not, her shows were always interesting. She was competent, informative, and professional. And there was just something soothing about her. Food Network just isn’t the same without Martha. ---

I think Nigella may be on the Style Network, which we have never gotten anywhere I’ve lived (three major cities in Florida). I know she has never been on Food Network in the last few years, in any case. ---

I want to see a remake of “In Martha’s Kitchen” done in the style of the scene in “Goodfellas” where Pauly and the boys cooking dinner in the pen, slicing garlic with a razor blade. Rachel is perky alright. They gotta have somebody, my favorite was David Rosengarten. Although I have to admit I never wanted to rub him down with **EVOO**. Way hotter than Rachel IMHO. ---
