Oh, unless he’s actually the Tanner and is lying in an attempt to get himself killed!

Because the insomniac is told his role. That means fake-claiming that the insomniac is in the game (only a 7% chance of being correct) would be likely to get immediately counterclaimed.

So either you WERE the seer, or you’re a tanner lying on purpose. Either way, no reason to kill you without evidence that you’re something different.

Though… what I’m not clear on is whether the insomniac is told his original role or his FINAL role after all the ‘cards’ have been shuffled around.

I was the Robber. I switched roles with Johnny Bravo. Johnny Bravo started as the Drunk. He is now one of the three unchosen roles. If we believe Inner Stickler, Johnny Bravo now is the Insomniac, the Tanner, or the missing role.

That certainly sounds like it’s the second case, and his FINAL role is revealed to him (or her).

Ah, ok, this answers my question. I must’ve missed that point in the rules.

Okay, I will confirm that I was the drunk. But according to the order, that means that YOU are now the Insomniac, Tanner, or the missing role. You became the Drunk before the Drunk became a different role.

…right?

> Also, notice that the rules post has the order that the actions happen during the Night. Please realize that if someone’s role gets switched, they still take the action of their original role. For example, if the Troublemaker switched the role of the Drunk and a Mason, then the player that was originally the Drunk would be the one to exchange his role for a new unknown one, so the Drunk would still be in the game, but one of the Masons would be removed. The actual game uses cards with the roles on them, so you may want to imagine that. You look at your role to begin with, but unless your role specifically calls for it, you do not look at any roles again until the Day begins.
>
> Let me know if there are any questions.

So in the example above, the original mason would be a simple villager, though that player would be unaware of his actual role until it was either deduced or the game reveal the the end…right?

Ugh, never mind. This is so confusing.

So yes, I am now either the Tanner (in which case I can’t win) or a different unknown role. I did not receive anything indicating that I am the Insomniac.

</div>

So yeah, I think the troublemaker needs to claim. Masons should also claim.

There can be only one more unassigned role, so if we have no troublemaker, we must have two masons. If we have only one mason, we must have a troublemaker.

If nobody at all claims mason, then we know that there was only one mason, and therefore we know that it’s a 50/50 shot that I’m either the Tanner or the Mason. Likewise if nobody claims troublemaker.

I can think of **no good reason** not to claim if you started as troublemaker or mason.

This post makes me believe that you are not completely understanding the rules of this game. I suggest everyone re-read the rules.

This is ONE night ultimate werewolf.
There is one and only one night.
There is one and only one day.

Once we kill someone, that’s it. The game is over. The only thing left to do is figure out who won and who didn’t.

Neither can I. I’m a Mason, and there is another, though I’m reluctant to out him as such without his consent.

Well there is the fact that few players, if any, know for sure if they are a werewolf or not. We know if we started out as a werewolf or not, but not what we ended up with after Night ended.

> [@](#):
>
> Also, is there any way that the unassigned roles can be put back in play? Or are they out forever?

During Night the roles could come back.
At this point in time, the unassigned roles are out of play and will not make a comeback.

Okay, so now we just wait for the rest of the claims.

If the game started with two wolves, and if only one of them was Mahaloth or HookerChemical, then town wins the game.

This is either good or bad for me depending on my mystery role. Oh well!

> If the game started with two wolves, and if only one of them was Mahaloth or HookerChemical, then town wins the game.

Continuing to think out loud about hypotheticals scenarios.

Mahaloth: Wolf
Player B: Wolf
HookerChemical: Town

HookerChemical and Mahaloth are switched. Mahaloth now knows three things:

1. He is 100% town.
2. HookerChemical is 100% wolf.
3. Player B is 100% wolf.

Mahaloth now claims and tells us who the other wolf is. We all pick one to vote for and town wins the game.

In a scenario where we only started with one wolf, we still know that HookerChemical must be a wolf because we know the robber’s action. There’s a 50/50 shot that the Drunk (me) is the other wolf, but it doesn’t matter because we still know with certainty that Hooker is one.

In the extremely unlikely scenario where Hooker and Mahaloth are both wolves, they easily lie and we’re all screwed.

In a scenario where neither of them are wolves, we find out who the second mason is and then just have to pick from the list of unconfirmed players.
