when his house burned to the ground. He was 44, never met anyone he didn’t like, and full of life. He had a daughter and son and grandson. Fortunately no one else was home. Please, everyone, check your smoke detectors and somehow test them to make sure that they will wake you up if you are a sound sleeper. His ex-wife told me that he was a very sound sleeper and if the smoke detector went off, he could have slept right through it ---

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. It never occurred to me to wonder if I could sleep through the smoke alarm. Heaven knows I sleep right through my ordinary alarm quite frequently.
