Very clever of them to build plot holes into season one specifically so that they can revisit them in season four. (Claim the writers, about themselves.)

The amount of foul language this season is making me cringe. It’s not really necessary, and seems like lazy writing. The whole season is off the rails with too many characters and special appearances. The final three episodes have a lot of ground to cover; I really hope it all comes together at the end.

I’m very glad they didn’t draw out the Oliver/Loretta issue with a lot of _Three’s Company_ hijinx. Instead after a little confusion two adults talked to each other and it was resolved.
I can’t help but think there will be a twist and we will see the other end of their phone call and it won’t be her double in gauze bandages.

Maybe you are overly sensitive. Maybe I’m overly immune. I haven’t noticed over use of foul language.

I don’t mind the foul language but the rest of that is dead on. Maybe it will come together at the end, they’ve been pretty clever so far. Most of it is entertaining in some way, but I kinda like mystery stories to stick closer to the subject.

I thought it was kind of surreal that there were three big-name actors all playing versions of themselves against the legend that is Meryl Streep. It really felt like they were all a bit dumbstruck in those scenes.
Also Melissa McCarthy was really very funny.

Howard’s really growing on me. I used to find him annoying but I’ve come around. He steals every scene he’s in. And he’s becoming an outright useful ally to our intrepid investigators.

I kind of hope season 5 is a transition to being about Howard.
Overall this season seems to be almost Flanderizing everyone and disappearing up it’s own success.
Remember by like season 5 of The Office when it was so huge and was making so much money it started to effect the content…we’d get overly elaborate set pieces, celebrities for no reason, everything started to look more polished (including wardrobes and haircuts)…I think this is where OMITB is for its scale (an online streaming series).

Until now I was loving it, but I really was not impressed by the complete jumbled mess of this episode, almost entirely focused on the weirdo actors and the weirder neighbours instead of the core three. Arguably the worst episode of the whole series.

Yeah, Ep 8 was a weird episode in many ways, not the least of which was after the mystery was solved of how Dudenoff died and was incinerated, Charles, Oliver and Mabel were all like, ohhhkaayy… guess that wraps things up! Let’s finish the podcast. Don’t worry, we won’t bust you Westies for improper body disposal!
Uh, hello?!? The central mystery of who killed Sazz, and who is targeting them, still hasn’t been solved! It was like they totally forgot about that. Unless I missed something. I admit this season has been so ‘throwing spaghetti at the wall’ I’ve been zoning out at times.

No, they know they still have to find Sazz’s killer, but they’re now convinced the Westies have nothing to do with it. Plus at the very end,
