And Ron Howard joins the group! I didn’t realize he had such a squeaky voice.
Mabel’s frozen reaction to being asked to act frightened ’ Right, you’re in"! 😆 And animated alien Charles telling off Oliver while both are in screen-capture spandex was hilariously absurd.
Kind of an expository episode but it was nice to see Jane Lynch again. Things are starting to fall into place. But how did screenwriter guy get into Dudenoff’s apartment to shoot Sazz? And how did he know she’d be there? And we haven’t yet found out who is sending those “I’m watching you” notes, both now and in Season 1.

One thing they specifically stayed away from talking about this episode was the fact that the murder was a two person job. Who that is will be the big twist in the last episode.
Talk about the plot holes from season 1 makes me think it will be someone who has been there all along.
RIP Glen Stubbins. And right when he found love.

Too much gimmick, not enough story. Still had good parts, but cheap conclusion to the murder mystery.

I figured out who was murdered at the end from a comment earlier in the show. I mentioned it out loud after the comment and did a “I told you so” when it was revealed.
I don’t know how many other people got it.

So I guess Sidney the coughing limo driver turned out to be a red herring. Or maybe for this season, anyway.
And we still don’t know who put in the 720p spy web cams (not the ones installed by the Brothers sisters) and sent the “I’m watching you” texts, right?

I think I’m kinda in that same boat. I miss a lot of the details around the actual mystery. In that sense, it reminds me of House, or at least how a lot of us watched House after we were a few seasons into it. All the Patient Of The Week stuff is mostly the same (Patient has a problem, lies to doctors, House and his team make two wrong guesses and then figure it out), but the actual character arcs and drama were generally much more interesting.
When it comes to Only Murders, I usually tell people it’s a quirky/unrealistic show and you have to be on board with that or you’re going to hate it. But if it clicks for you, it’s great.
Maybe it’s closer to Pushing Daisies than House.

I don’t think it’s meant to be a comedy. It’s a mystery show minus the grim-dark.
Now if you’re a fan of grim-dark then, to be sure, probably not the show for you. But if you are expecting a comedy then, to be sure, you won’t get that. If you hadn’t had that expectation, though, would you have been disappointed?

While Martin Short can carry his acting weight, the other principals just don’t make it. The plots are tortured, the inside jokes are unrelatable, and the interactions are boring. As I said, it has its moments (but so do most failures), but isn’t my cuppa.

Does anyone think Selena Gomez is mumbling a bit more this season? I honestly didn’t notice it in prior seasons and now I do, and wonder if it’s a conscious choice. To be fair, I don’t think I’ve seen her in anything before this (though of course I’d heard _of_ her and heard some of her music). I guess what I’m asking is if that’s her natural delivery.

This gets asked every season. It’s her character Mabel who mumbles, not Selena. Mabel is a shy, cynical, awkward introvert.
