What with covid and the writers/actors strike and streaming’s inherent lack of needing to fill a time slot etc, it’s pretty refreshing to see a TV show that went through all that and still comes back on time every year.
Or maybe I just watch too many expensive, hard-to-produce shows and I’ve grown accustomed to waiting 2 and a half years between seasons.
Eva Longoria was hilarious. “When I was your age…a couple of years ago…”. And that was pretty good advice she gave Mabel.
Eugene Levy and Zach Galiafinakis looked like they were having a ball. I am kind of sad we didn’t get to see Jane Lynch though.
Meryl Streep. Acting too happy. Of course, she’s just an early red herring. Or is she? I didn’t get the joke about “New Orleans burn unit”. Anyway she already had her turn as “person who had something to gain” from - MURDER. But still.
The Brothers sisters. They can’t possibly be normal, and will have a clear motive soon to be revealed. Wait for it.
Jane Lynch. She’ll turn up as herself. Is that allowed? I mean, you can be a famous person playing a character in a world where nobody notices you’re Molly Shannon, or you can be Molly Shannon as herself, or rather a goofy version of herself proving what a good sport she is, like Malkovich. But both? Never been done; a level of Meta that might just piss the viewers off. I agree, she’ll turn up but only in flashbacks.
The chauffeur, who used to drive Charles around and doubtless had some interaction with his stunt double. Again to be revealed. Again too pat to be the answer.
Those X-rays on Sazz’s wall are a clue, as well as all the notes on her desk, Go back and hit pause and write that stuff down.
Sazz could be alive. Keep an eye out for someone else missing. Unless those replacement joints have serial numbers on them it’s too easy to assume those were her ashes.
Something was going on in that scene where Mabel picks up the wine cork. She stares at the oven controls momentarily for no clear reason. She also grabs a towel from the counter to wipe the floor with an puts it back on the counter. Perhaps a source of evidence later on.
The show was hinting that the three would find the body in the apartment. Like when they first entered, they got as far as the kitchen before turning on lights.
Sazz can’t be alive. She was dressed like Charles, who was the assassin’s true target. Again, the chauffeur might be behind it, if not the actual triggerman or triggerwoman.
