I think a lot of guys are less vocal because they’re concentrating on baseball stats, etc. in order to avoid being a three pump chump.

I like to make _some_ noise because it feels nice to make some noise. I think if you’re concentrating too hard on the noises you’re making, you’re too tense. Husband makes some noise, too.

However, all of that is kind of irrelevant, as we are both usually as quiet as little lambs. Three kids, and don’t want to be interrupted in the middle with “Daddy, what was that noise?”

The first orgasms I instigated in other people were done with the fingertip and didn’t yield the classic sounds, just shudders at the right time. I think probably **Anastaseon** is onto something.

Umm, so to speak 😃

I’m not. One of the things that really complicated sex with one of my boyfriends was that he expected me to yell my lungs out and, sorry, I don’t.

My first several thousand orgasms where while I was separated from my parents by a drywall, OK? I. Learned. To. Be. Vewwy. Vewwy. Quiet.

Having never engaged in sexual acts with a female, I can only respond about the guys. Yes, some men are very quiet, I’ve been with a few that you wouldn’t know they’d had an orgasm if you didn’t see it happen or wonder why it was suddenly very wet. Others have been loud enough that I was afraid we’d wake the neighbors, the ones 5 blocks away. Myself, I vary between the two, but tend to not be very noisy a fella at that time.

So sounds to me like one of those overgeneralizations.

I don’t think my lamentation of clitoral absence is strictly a “typically male thing to say” rather than a “human thing to say”. I often wonder what it’s like to experience other people’s pain and thoughts and pleasure. I think it is an more of an empathy thing. And women never wonder what it’s like to have a penis?

I am by far, not generalizing.

I range anywhere from silent, to heavy breathing to moaning, myself. I have had vocal and less vocal partners. On average it just seems like most women are more vocal than me.

I guess, it just seems like the frequency of female gustation de vibration is higher and perhaps leads to a higher frequency of vocalization. I think **Anastaseon** is on to something with the pleasant punches. And thank you very much for giving me an analogy that both furthers my understanding and makes me horny.

I’m sure it is a fundamental physics problem and cause that is essential to our plumbing and differences in orgasm, and leads me to another question-

Is there a “frequency” for orgasm? Surely there must be an average number of “licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop?”, so to speak. Or, otherwise what are the physical and mathermatical formulas for sex?

>
> I once questioned him, offering to do more things that turned him on if he would indulge his fantasies, or, if there was something I already did, if I could do more of it. He confessed that every girl he’d been with before me (a whopping three women) had been very quiet during sex and orgasm. He said he was really happy that I was so much more vocal, because it felt like a confirmation that he was doing the right thing.
>
> I’m generally noisy during the entire act… there’s a feeling that, unless you have a vagina, is kind of hard to explain. I could probably keep it quiet, but sex is such a release for me, so I don’t hold back at all. Thrusting, even when done gently, is a strange feeling inside, and tends to yank some interesting sounds from my lips, to be sure. When things get faster, I get breathy - er… it’s like being punched in the gut, but much more pleasant. Bah. I can’t compare it to anything, so it’s very hard to explain. The thing is, once I get started making those noises, it’s very easy to get louder and more frequent and of course, out of breath, as the big O approaches. There’s an amount of muscle work and pressure I’m putting out, as well, in order to reach it, so that goes toward the noises made. Think about the noise you make when you go to push a large, heavy object. It’s… similar. But more pleasant. As I said before.
>
> Maaaaaybe someone could explain it better? :smack:

Oh. Ahem. No I don’t think anyone could.

Did you get to that furniture? Because, I read this twice. And I do believe the Bus Wife is gonna have to DVR the second half of Idol, because I feel this…need coming on.

I make noise. Quite a bit of noise. I can’t help myself! If I have to be quiet because of circumstances, I can _just about_ manage it, but usually a little squeak escapes.

Why the noise? I don’t know. It just feels so good that I can’t hold anything back. Restraining the squeaks and moans and everything really takes away from the feeling of the orgasm. The release is so much better if I can express my pleasure just a little bit.

It’s like being on a roller coaster. Basically, you have two choices: you can go down the first hill holding your breath, or you can fling your hands up in the air and scream like a banshee. I have _way_ more fun when I’m screaming. 😃 Actually, that’s probably how I’d describe the feeling of orgasm. Like a roller coaster. My heart is racing, and it feels like I’m falling, or flying, or both, and my extremities tingle. And when it’s over, if it was a good ride, I’m shaking, and I want to go **again**!
Incidentally, none of my guy friends ever scream or yell on roller coasters, and most of my female friends do. Hmmm… I wonder if my female non-screaming friends are quiet in bed…

Without going into details, I just want to note that Pepper Mill’s orgasms don’t resemble the stereotypical reaction at all. Nothing I’ve seen – the scene in “When Harry Met Sally” or erotica or anywhere else – is really similar to her reaction. We’re all individuals, evidently, right down to this aspect.

Head spins around? Whistles Dixie? Fries bacon on her stomach? The possibilities dazzle.

Judging from the replies so far (and my own research) it seems like women’s orgasms _are_ more intense than men’s. They seem to be a much more whole-body experience, whereas the male version, for me, is _usually_ pretty much confined to the active area.

Of course, there are exceptions…

Mr. new used to be like that. But I asked him to be more vocal. So he started telling me when he was about to climax. Over time, that has progressed to him being _very_ vocal about it! I also used to have to ask him to “talk to me” during sex; now, I can barely shut him up! 😉 Me, I’ve always been very vocal; dunno why. There are times when I try to keep the volume down, but it’s difficult. I’m particularly loud during the Big O, and I have a _lot_ of them.

It occurs to me that younger males are subject to premature ejaculation, so may be thinking that if they don’t advertise their orgasm, maybe their penises will stay hard enough for a little while after ejaculating for the woman not to realize that he’s done. After a while, even after learning how to delay orgasm, these guys may remain quiet while coming out of habit.
