**{{{{{Pie}}}}}** I’m so sorry. It sucks that doing the right thing sometimes has to hurt so much. We’re here for you, no matter what. I’m now working on Martini #2 (well, they’re a quasi-Manhattan, actually… but it’s in a martini glass, so whatev). The Boy is working late, so I think I’ll just veg in front of the boob toob for a while and eat some leftover Indian food. A friend I haven’t heard from in over 10 yrs just added me on Facebook. Poor girl, life never handed her much of a good hand and it sounds like she’s had one hell of a ride since we last spoke. It’s nice to know she’s still alive and (mostly) well, though… part of me worried that she’d end up dead in a ditch someday. ---

Update about my roommate situation, for any who are interested. Cloud Maiden replied to my last email by saying never mind, that I should forget she’d ever brought it up, and that she’d pay June rent. And that she hoped this experience would move us past being “female friends” and closer to being “buddies.” I don’t even know anymore. At least she’s paying the rent? ---

And btw, the search feature on the SDMB sucks dead donkey dick. It is horrible, horrible, horrible. The “time out” which punishes you for their lame search abilities–everything about it. Grrrr. (can you tell I’ve been looking for something and can’t find it? It’s not a hard thing at all–I want to see if there was a thread on Walk the Line, the film about Johnny Cash. Forget it. If I have to see her again (which I might, I suppose . . . I wonder if she’s thinking about coming down to Chicago for our alumni weekend?) I’ll be civil, but there is no way in hell I’m going to actively maintain this supposed “buddy” friendship. I had lunch with my godmother today, and of course my mom has already told her what little I revealed of The Guy and me. My godparents are actually much more liberal than my parents, which is weird considering they’re such good friends. Anyway, she was very supportive, and just said that I shouldn’t sell myself short (I think I said something about how happy I was that The Guy wanted to visit me all the way over in Korea and meet my parents, and she was like “Darling, that’s nothing to be happy over - that’s what should be EXPECTED of him if he wants to keep you!”). I should eat something. My eating patterns have gotten all out of whack for some reason. I can’t finish more than half of anything at one sitting.
