# Opera 7 ... opinions?

I downloaded Opera 7 Beta 2 the other day, and so far I’m very impressed. It’s much more stable and fuller-featured than the previous v7 beta models. Anyone else tried it?
Likes:
[ul][li]More sites render properly;[/li][li]Java-heavy sites seem to work a lot better than in Opera 6;[/li][li]“Open requested pop-ups” option added to the pop-up killing options (for the ones you want, like Hotmail contacts);[/li][li]The new “wand” button saves forms and passwords, similar to IE.[/ul] Dislikes:[/li][ul][li]Still no right-click functions for the bookmarks;[/li][li]Skinning doesn’t work from [MyOpera.com](http://MyOpera.com) - the automatic download crashes my PC;[/li]Any changes to the page result in input forms being cleared (e.g. maximising the window size deletes all contents from these input boxes).[/ul]

I’ve been using it for about one week. It seems much more stable than 7b1.
Things I like- still faster than Mozilla and IE
I can block all unrequested pop-ups but still get my address book in hotmail.
Things I dislike-
I disabled wand since I don’t like personal information to be saved for me.
The skins from previous versions don’t work.
I haven’t had any trouble installing new skins.

Hey, since I’m here, I thought I’d ask if anyone knows how Netscape Navigator 7 stores bookmarks. I’d like to drag over a bunch of them from one installation to another, but I can’t find them.

The only thing I don’t like about it so far is having to turn on the hotlist to monitor downloads, unless there is a config option I’m overlooking. I just hope the Linux version comes along soon.

**CTRL-ALT-T** toggles the download list. Don’t know if that helps at all though.
One thing I forgot about the new beta: finally the spoiler tags on these boards work properly.

Does anybody have the registered version of Opera? The reason I don’t like Opera is that it has that ad banner unless you give them money, and there are free browsers of comparable quality. I’m surprised that my opinion is not more popular, actually.

I’m upset because I thought that when I paid for Opera 6, I would be able to get Opera 7 for free.
I couldn’t.
I’ll stick with Opera 6 for a while.

I was very happy with Opera 5 on my ancient Windows 95 PC, but version 6 ran too slowly to be useful, so I switched to Mozilla. However, I’ve downloaded the Opera 7 beta, and it runs even faster than Mozilla. Another problem they fixed was the “stop loading” button is more responsive – with version 6 it would continue to load a page for a long time before it would notice that you wanted to abort the load.

Also, Opera 7 lets you see the spoiler text the same way as the other bowsers: No more hiding stuff from the Opera users!
