Okay, so **Operation Dear Abby** isn’t back this year except as an email service. (It was cancelled last year for fear of mail-vectored anthrax.) I cannot find any other organized way to get cards and letters to “Any Servicemember” and my daughter’s Girl Scout troop is looking to do this for this season. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you. ---

It appears as though sending paper copy cards and letters to the folks in uniform is no longer a viable option. "Concerns about regular mail delivery have prompted the military to suspend the year’s letter-writing campaign… " The DoD web site only offers [OperationDearAbby](http://anyservicemember.navy.mil/) ---

I was afraid so. Looks like we follow **Plan B**. We ask around town to find out which locals are serving and where and hit them with cookies for the season.
