“Judging him solely based on his outward appearance” was _ **EXACTLY** _ and the only reason he was there. Again, I believe my words were mitigated somewhat by the context.

Depending on the angle and smile, I’m reminded alternately of Ralph Fiennes and Ryan Gosling. I think you’re handsome, if a… bit… self-involved, overall. Generally I’m not into bodybuilder types or bald guys, but you’re not into fat chicks so it’s not really an issue. 😛
Final verdict: handsome, not my type, I’m not your type. But I can still look and enjoy.

Well like, you know how you can look at someone and decide whether you’re in their league or not? Yeah no. Still, nice pecs.
The only bodybuilder “friend” I ever had was a thoroughly obnoxious twat. And one of my former LLs was a bodybuilder. He was a pretty nice guy, but still had moments of thorough obnoxiousness. I just don’t care for the gym mentality. I’d rather smoke and eat cheetos while watching Arrested Development, you know?

I must “this” to this. The thing is, when some stranger reads your FAcebook page and sees something like that they don’t know what was going through your head at the time. I can understand the “I’m offended that this guy was allowed in a bodybuilding competition after I worked my ass off to get here” mindset but out of context it just sounds like a mean diss.
(also, fair point about the marathon thing.)

Jamie, while you have been blessed with appealing facial features, based on your facial expressions in those photos I wouldn’t be too interested in talking to you. Not a single engaging smile from you in the lot (for an engaging smile see contest #48). Your expression seems to range from cocksure to mildly disinterested. That gives me the impression I’d have to wade through a lot of layers to get a glimpse of the genuine Jamie.

Well, the only thing I’ve learned from Jamie Mc Garry here is that a crippling accident doesnt suddenly turn you into a better person. I wont believe Tv movies anymore.

I find it sort of refreshing that Jamie was probably a douche before his accident and hasn’t changed all that much afterwards. Like Capitaine says above everyone seems to think a horrible accident makes you find God and become this patient, sensitive soul. Well that is not true, clearly. It’s endearing in a twisted way that he makes fun of fat people, etc.

I think you’re a good looking guy who needs to smile more; the facial expression in so many of those photos is the classic “douchebag” meme facial expression and it is a huge turn off. If we’re going with numbers, a smile is the difference between a 4 and a 9. Seriously - why do people make that face (and this also holds for women and duckface…WHY!!!)
The bodybuilding look doesn’t do it for me, although **jamie** is on the smallish side and it doesn’t seem _too_ extreme. In the more casual photos he mostly just looks in shape, which is nice.
The tanning goop stuff is disgusting; I understand why it’s done but it’s gross. My reaction was actually “ew. eww eww eww ewww EWWW!” when I first saw the photos. And a three day process? Three days without showering just adds to the EWWWWWW factor for me!
As for personality; I don’t really care how hard you worked to get where you are or how much good it’s done in your life, making “fat little piggy” comments is uncalled for. You don’t know that guy’s personal reasons for being there, you don’t know where he came from (hey, maybe he’s half the weight he was at a year ago?) and you don’t have the right to insult him over it. That glimpse into your personality is enough to negate all the other positives - and there are a lot (those eyes!!). You go from being HOT to being a jerk, and that’s not cool. You know you can take the comments down off facebook, right?
As for the wheelchair; a complete non issue.
