# Opt out organ donation and relatives' wishes

[It says I can get administrator permission to edit or combine. This newbie is not sure how yet otherwise I’d ask that this be combined with the previous post] I think that the family/ estate should get some benefit for the loss of control. A simple offer to pay a stipend towards a the low end mortuary expenses of a cremation and box or a coffin, should suffice. Trust me the money is there!

Try passing a law that makes organ donation mandatory. Religious objections abound and until we can amend the constitution, religious freedoms are guaranteed by the constitution.

Much easier to say that you have to opt out, even easier if the opt out is only for one kidney (like I said if you can live on one kidney on earth, you should be able to make do with one kidney in heaven or wherever).

ISTM that if we eliminate the kidney shortage in the country then we basically get rid of almost the entire organ shortage.
