It was only as I was cleaning the kitchen counters this morning that I realized what a versatile fruit the orange must be. Oranges on TV glo, which I assume is illiterate for “glow.” In our very home Oranges clean, fantastik, and blast. They do seem to clean as promised, and they do a pretty “fantastik” job of it. The only objection I have is that they’ve yet to blast anything, even the counters they’re sprayed on, so that one is a bit of false advertising. However, since the idea of the kitchen being filled with rubble is not vastly appealing, I don’t think I’ll be sending that letter to consumer reports just yet. Besides wondering about the literacy levels of those in charge of naming products, I’m worried about the other fruits’ self-esteem(s). Sure, Oranges are deserving of some praise, and it probably inspires baby Oranges to reach for great heights, what about the fruits you never hear about? I bet there are pears and plums being picked on in kindergarten classes at this very moment, and I don’t like it. Really, I think all this fame is going to the Oranges’ heads. In fact the three bottles of cleaner are giving me smug looks right now, but I’m not worried because I know people are fickle. The Oranges are going to take it hard when butane is declared the next best cleaner, aren’t they. ---

**elfkin477** , don’t lament your choice of cleaning products. Orange you glad that your counters are clean? Enjoy the fruits of your labor, marvel at what you were able to produce. It would be the pits to have a dirty kitchen. Do not des-pear for the other fruits. Everything will be peachy, what with being the apple of someone’s eye, a real plum, or totally cherry. If you want to feel bad, think about having a name like “kumquat”. ---

Grapefruit is woefully underused. I love the bitter sweetness of grapefruits, and the tang from a good one. Huckleberry is underused, as well, and I think we could all stand to see more raspberry cleaning products. Pthbbbbt! It’s Raspberry Fresh! ---

Orange. Puts me back to the 1970s, when every cafe and quick-meal chompin’ eatery by every train and bus station seemed to have orange tables, orange decor everywhere. To encourage you to eat. Now it’s all cleansers and anti-baterial stuff? I’m gettin’ old. ☹ ---

Nobody’s mentioned botox? While not a fruit or veggie, it is a naturally occuring substance used for something it surely didn’t evolve for. The orange cleaning spray does a really good job of discouraging “sweet” ants (the kind that go for sugary stuff). I had a major sweet ant problem in the kitchen, the playroom, and in my mailbox – all solved by spraying orange cleaner in the nooks and crannies. Unfortunately, the "meat’ ants don’t mind the orange stuff at all, and they seem to be flourishing in the absence of the sweet ants. For those of us with slightly longer memories, before orange cleaner it was lemon, and before that it was pine. Eventually someone will come out with something different, and everybody will jump on the band wagon. Maybe it’s time for a low carb cleaner? ---

I tried using the stuff but pulp kept clogging up the nozzle and it took so much effort to juice the things in the first place that it really didn’t seem worth it. ---

The newer orange ones actually use squished orange products as an active ingredient. I think. 😉 ---

Does this mean I no longer need a large, powerful bottle brush to scrub away grime? Will these wonder cleaners make it all go away with just a wipe? ---
