I wonder if we might get a time skip after this strip. For all we know a lot of time might be passing while Roy and the others live their illusionary victorious life. It could also be one of those lifetime in a second type deals. ---

I’m going to say that it’s not the last strip of the book for a couple of reasons: 1. It doesn’t say so. 2. There are too many loose ends at the moment - Xykon, Tarquin, Nale and company, Vaarsuvius - and their “looseness” is not dramatic enough yet to make an effective cliffhanger. 3. It would be terrible storytelling to get this far and then end the book before reaching the damn gate, especially without a _really_ good reason. So we need one final dramatic push before the end - maybe a battle at the gate between the various factions, maybe something else, but something a bit more conclusive than what we’ve got. ---
